“God is so good! We are continuing to see so many beautiful things of God each week. Many people are giving their lives to God and there are miracles and break-throughs. And yet, we are constantly contending.
“Contending for more of God’s presence, more of his power. Praying that His love will be so tangible, people will be attracted from the streets into our church. That their hearts will be so melted by love, that the old ways will fall away. Contend with us for these things!
“We have welcomed our first intern, Alice Wheeler, who became a friend when coming to our church in its earliest days. She is a reinforcement that we have been asking God for and we are so thankful for the first-fruits of our prayers.
“Recently we held a couple of BBQs open to the community after our Sunday service and saw people give their lives to God, or be touched by God’s love in a multiplicity of ways. It was beautiful to see our little church abuzz with love and welcome for newcomers.
“We are also seeing the church beginning to be empowered to lead, which is such an exciting part of growing in maturity as a church.
“Hot off the press is the news that we’ve trained our first team at the pilot stage of the CAP Community Detox Programme which seeks to give people the intense social and medical support generally needed for drug and alcohol detoxing; but also using the ‘Freedom in Christ’ course to help addicts meet Jesus in such a way that the underlying issues that cause people to turn to addiction are healed.
“We’re so thankful for your prayers, and know that we wouldn’t be here without faithful intercession. Please continue to pray for a deepening relationship for all those who have turned to Jesus. Also, for favour and protection over the family, and the growing core team.”
